The Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society‘s Nickel Plate Road 765 is on the move today. A Norfolk Southern diesel is escorting the locomotive (along with passenger cars on loan from former Ohio Central Railroad owner Jerry Jacobson) on ex-NKP rails to Thomaston, Indiana, where it will interchange to the Chesapeake and Indiana Railroad for the final leg to the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum in North Judson, Indiana.

If you plan to be trackside today, use your party manners (including “no trespassing”), and thank the good people at Norfolk Southern for their willingness to handle this special move.

No. 765 will be operating excursions this weekend; get your tickets here.
